now, life isn't the same as it was back when you were children. when
2012 came around, and the inhabitants of the world went crazy,
nothing happened. nothing happened, but everything changed. at
least, to these people it did.
no one controls harbrook anymore. it's filled with violence, sin,
murder and hate. no one stops it, and every day is but another
battle to survive for some people.
for most, you're either a killer or a citizen. once your eighteen, the
choice is up to you. until then, you're nothing. you're nothing,
unless you're claimed or brought to safety.
safety is a safe haven for those of the town who are special enough
to gain it. safety means armed guards, three meals a day, and a
cozy place to sleep. safety means you're special. this specialness is
rare.
being claimed, however, is a lot worse. children as young as ten
have been claimed, and they can even be claimed at birth if a killer
decides to. the claimed are like child soldiers, brought to fight at
such a young age. they know it's wrong, but nothing can really stop
it.
why doesn't someone stop it? why just protect those under safety?
