HARLOW LORRAINE GOLIGHTLY
---------------------------------------------------
HARLEY , TWENTY-TWO , COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY STUDENT , TISSE
are you ready to take this survey?
well sure, why not? it's not like i have anything better to do.
what's your current mood?
bored, i suppose. bored with life, bored with this penthouse, bored with this schoolwork.
what's your favorite color?
it's definitely red. its' pretty, and i love wearing it too. it's a good color for me.
what's your family like?
well, there's my mother, lorraine vanderbilt. she's a fashion magazine editor. she still lives here in manhattan, and she's currently on her.. seventh? marriage.. i'm not really sure. i lost count after the first few. my father, henry golightly, passed away when i was six. he worked a lot, as he owned an international chain of hotels, but we were pretty close. i've got a twin sister named brynne. i love her to death, but aside from our identical looks, we really aren't all that alike. i've also got a six year old niece named holden. oh, and i have a pet teacup pig named porcus.
what was high school like for you?
why, i was a great scholar in high school. top of my class, student body president.. you know... haha. just kidding. high school definitely weren't my best years. a blast, maybe, but they definitely weren't my finest hours. i was on varsity soccer for my freshman and sophomore year, but i quit after getting kicked off the team. as for grades, i never paid much attention to those. honestly, i don't really remember all that much of high school. i was far too trashed most the time. let's just say, i was the definition of the rebellious child.
what's your life like now? everything you had hoped?
my life is alright. just how i want it. i own my own nightclub. i'm taking business classes at columbia. i'm living it up, you know, just going with the flow of things. eventually, i know i'll want more from life, but for now i'm pretty content. i could always use a change, spice things up a bit.
is there anyone you tell everything to?
my sister brynne. we're extremely close, even if we don't always see eye to eye. actually, we often argue about things, but regardless, she's always the one i go to. besides, even if i didn't tell her, we've got the whole twin telepathy thing going on. she just knows me too well.
how do you feel about dating?
i like going on dates, but the whole relationship thing, i'm not really a fan. i never really have been. i don't really think the whole fairytale ending really exists. i'm one of those people who would much rather have a short "we'll always have paris" type of love affair, than have a life long love that gets boring.
morning person or night person?
definitely a night person. i'm very cranky in the mornings. though i make a mean french toast, which i must say, is the extent of my cooking abilities.
favorite hobbies?
well, i'm not really musically or artistically talented, really. i mean i played cello for a bit, but i've never really been one for the arts. i used to play soccer, and i occasionally do for fun. i ride horses, but really only when i'm at my home in the hamptons. then, of course, there's always the more cliche hobbies, like drinking, partying. to be honest, i'm not really picky with what i do.
do you remember your first kiss?
yeah. i was six years old and it was the little neighbor boy who i used to push around on the playground. we hated each other, but then we ended up becoming best friends. we still talk every now and then, but nothing ever really came from that. actually, later, in high school, he came out of the closet and now is very happy with his boyfriend.
what are you like when you're mad?
i'm definitely not the silent type. i rant. i yell. i suffer from rage blackouts. i throw things, break things. it's really not pretty, at all.
do you wish you were somewhere else?
well, i love new york. i really do. it's my favorite city in the world, but i do sometimes wish i were elsewhere. i love travel, and i haven't really gotten around to it much lately, but sooner or later, one of these days i'm going to just take off somewhere.
do you feel like you've changed at all?
well it depends on what time span we're talking about. of course i've changed. i mean, i'm definitely not who i was when i was a kid, but when i really think about it, i mean i haven't really changed all that much. i've always been.. me to a certain degree. i guess i've changed a little, but not much. i've always been harlow, and i always will be. i love change, but not when it comes to myself.
